Did the writers leave for lunch towards the end of the screenplay or something. Maybe I'm being too nitpicky on the effects, but theses ones are borderline artsy-fartsy or wankery without any taste. But if you just go to appreciate how cleaver scene after scene is visually stimulating to the eye, you hopefully will forget how mindless the plot turns out to be, especially toward the end. I would recommend seeing it, whether in the theater or renting. The directing and cinematography were superb. Also found the acting of both Cooper and DeNiro to be mediocre. Minor gaps in the plot. Is oriented more for teenagers and above. Leslie Dixon wrote the screenplay and deserves a lot of credit because it is mainly a dialogue driven film, however it is probably fair to assume that all of the credit goes to Alan Glynn who wrote the novel which this based on. It's about an unsuccessful writer who comes across an amazing new drug. The intrigue of having full control of your mind may be the premise, but the subtle twists and turns of the characters makes this a worthwile see. Suitable for younger viewers over 10. If the goal was to convince you that it could dictate your life's potential, I'd have to say it is far fetched to the max. This film featured an unlikeable character in a stupid, silly situation. It took a little while to take off but I loved it. Don't have high expectations and you'll enjoy the film.

It's a fantasy film that does take you on a wild ride. At such a juncture, he stumbles upon his ex- brother-in-law who introduces an experimental designer drug that enhances brain functionality to harness all its potential. Without drugs, we die. Things like that were a nice touch to make what would otherwise be an ordinary scene more memorable. Simply put, you can see and hear everything. This movie was very entertaining. I can usually guess the ending of thrillers but couldn't this time. I can see why (young) people looking for a shortcut in life will like the NZT concept. But for his own benevolence, Eddie Morra could very well become a supervillain. For example, at the beginning of the movie when we see our hero on the train, we feel like we are in the seat in front of him eavesdropping on his conversation.
