Frequently used by Fulani herders who wish to sell their livestock, a marketplace in Song, Adamawa state, is bustling despite the regionÕs tensions caused by drought-induced immigration. Often herders sell their rams and sheep to get quick cash, while they sell their cows to make major investments. With the increased migration and settling of herders from elsewhere, such as Geidam in neighboring Yobe state, there will likely be more traders and more commodities available for sale at the market.
