On March 12 Lee Zeldin, the administrator of the Environmental Protection Agency, announced his intent to trim the reach or eliminate 31 measures that have served to substantially improve the condition of the nation’s environment. A number of actions directly affect water quality and supply.
The justification, Zeldin said, is “fulfilling President Trump’s promise to unleash American energy, lower cost of living for Americans, revitalize the American auto industry, restore the rule of law, and give power back to states to make their own decisions.”
