In June, Mongolians re-elected President Tsakhiagiin Elbegdorj of the Democratic Party, who campaigned on attracting foreign investment and strengthening environmental oversight of mining.  In September the World Economic Forum,  Mongolia’s Ministry of Environment and Economic Development, the International FinanceCorporation’s Water Resources Group 2030 brought together conservation leaders, business executives and members of parliament to discuss the implications of demands on Mongolia’s water resources.
