Delton Lake is nobody’s business

LAKE DELTON, Wisconsin – Lake Delton, a man-made water body constructed in the 1920s, is suffering from a broken shoreline, the Associated Press reports. After heavy rains in June that washed away homes and highways, the muddy lake near Wisconsin Dells is not drawing its usual crowds this summer.

With one resort owner’s revenue 60 percent lower than last year, the tourist economy the lake usually supports is struggling to make ends meet. Entrepreneurs claim there is still much to enjoy, and fear the impact this year’s flood may have on next year’s business.
