Atlanta’s Lake Lanier at near-record low July 4

ATLANTA-With the water level at Lake Lanier verging on a record low, authorities from the US Corps of Engineers warned July 4 visitors to take extra caution, reports the Atlanta Journal Constitution. With only 5 percent of docks and 12 percent of ramp lanes usable, the lake was reported to have lost 18 percent of its surface. The corps expects the water body to drop by at least another foot.
