We take it completely for granted, and yet it’s a minor miracle when you think about it and the problem is we don’t think about it, we ought to every time we turn on our taps.

It’s not as sexy or dramatic as some of the other things that kill people. But whether you’re dead from the end of a gun, or dead from a drink of dirty water, you’re still dead.

We’ve failed to make basic human needs for water for everyone, and that I think is the greatest failure of the 20th century.

We need something that can reframe what we’re looking at, because if we don’t reframe what we’re looking at, we’ll continue to behave as if it’s not a problem.

Circle of Blue is a new way of thinking about communications about water.

Data can come as numbers, data can come as pictures, data can come as video, and I think the potential of combining these different types of data in the right way is where a lot of the power lies.

Information is the coin of the realm. The more you know, the more you can respond with good ideas.

So there’s a circle of data, questions, and answers, and solutions, and their impacts.

What we need to face with water needs to be seen like a massive social movement.

You name the time and I will name you the image that changed the policy.

And I think we need to think about the influence that we have, the potential influence that we have if we think about each one reaching one.

You go to the dark side of the earth and rivers are what light up. They look like a string of pearls because mankind needs water.

It’s all connected to you in your house. That these issues have to be solved because sooner or later they are going to walk right up to your front door. And in America when if walks up to your front door, you pay attention.

We can muddle through with a lot of other pollution and environmental problems, but our children die, and it’s unforgivable.

You’ve got to show it to them, and if you show it to them, how could they not respond with compassion, with generosity?
