Scientists & Engineers ask candidates key water and science questions

Circle of Blue and Scientists & Engineers for America (SEA) will together cover the upcoming presidential election – polling candidates on their water and science policies. SEA, the non-profit, non-partisan group of professionals focused on science policy, is querying U.S. candidates nationwide. Circle of Blue will publish SEA’s findings, the results of a questionnaire that asks presidential candidates and congressional hopefuls their views on issues of climate change, energy, and health.

Among the questions, SEA asked the following about water policy:

Thirty-nine states expect some level of water shortage over the next decade, and scientific studies suggest that a majority of our water resources are at risk. What policies would you support to meet demand for water resources?

Circle of Blue will report the ongoing results of the initiative; coverage of Barack Obama’s response to the questionnaire can be found here.
